This site is a tribute to James "Jamie" Alfred Macfarlane and an opportunity to donate to the MPS (Mucopolysaccharide) Society.
Jamie was born on 26 April 1999. He was the dearly loved son of his mother, Melanie, and treasured member of the Macfarlane family. Jamie was the dearly loved son of his father, Tim, step-mother Jess, and brother to his sisters Emma, Megan and Martha, and treasured member of the Hooper family.
Jamie had Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare disorder that causes learning disabilities and a deterioration of physical and mental skills. He had a shortened life expectancy, but throughout his life he demonstrated how relished life can be, especially through his love of music, films and characters, and football. Jamie filled his families' lives with joy and we treasure our times with him.
The MPS Society have helped Jamie, Melanie, Tim and both families throughout Jamie's life. They provide support across the UK to families affected by rare, life-limiting genetic conditions. These genetic conditions cause a range of complex difficulties and they provide vital support to families for as long as they need it. Please do consider a donation to the MPS Society in tribute to Jamie.
Rest In Peace Dearest Jamie ...love, strength and prayers to you and your amazing mother.
With much love
Sending love and hugs to Melanie, a wonderful mother to Jamie xxxx
